What is SummitSkills?
SummitSkills is the Sector Skills Council for the building services engineering sector, which represents the electrotechnical, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration and plumbing industries.
What does SummitSkills do?
The employer-led approach of SummitSkills gives businesses in building services engineering a key role in increasing their own and the UK’s productivity and profitability. The sector carries out £20 billion of work each year - 3% of GNP (Gross National Product) and at any one time is training 18,000 apprentices.
SummitSkills was responsible for ‘Horizon’, a project which created the Sector Skills Agreement (SSA) for building services engineering. This was developed to get employers, training providers and government working together in a commitment to improve performance, skills and quality in the sector across the UK.
