Skillset

Skillset is the Sector Skills Council (SSC) for Creative Media, which comprises:

• advertising
• animation
• computer games
• facilities (which includes post production, studio and equipment hire, special physical effects, outside broadcast, processing laboratories, transmission, manufacture of AV equipment and other services for film and TV)
• fashion & textiles
• film
• interactive media
• other content creation (pop promos, corporate and commercials production)
• photo imaging
• publishing (books, journals, magazines, newspapers, directories and databases, news agencies, and electronic information services)
• radio
• television

Skillset looks after the skills needs of the above industries. Our job is to make sure the creative media industries have the right people, with the right skills, in the right place, at the right time, to allow:

• business growth and competitiveness
• industries to maintain their competitive edge and share best practice
• sectors to attract and retain talented people to build on success.
