The Financial Services Skills Council (FSSC) is an independent, employer-led body representing financial services and accountancy across the UK. We are the link between industry, government and education. Our aim is to make sure that people, in this increasingly international and diverse sector, have the skills and knowledge that are essential in driving productivity and competitiveness.
The FSSC covers six financial services sub-sectors, where applicable, across the four nations: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. This includes:
- Insurance
- Banking
- Financial Advice
- Investments
- Credit, Finance and Leasing
- Accountancy
The FSSC works with Careers Advisers and IAG practitioners from a range of organisations in the UK, but we are also able to provide individuals with information through our website. Although we do not provide individual careers guidance, we do offer a signposting service to help refer people to appropriate guidance providers.
We work closely with the industry and this enables us to provide specialist and accurate careers information, focusing on the skills and qualifications that people considering a career financial services and accountancy will need to demonstrate. Through our careers information, we aim to support people in making career decisions.
