SSC Labour Market Information

Good news! The new careers labour market information (LMI) produced by the SSCs can now be accessed via the web.

We know that careers advisers across the UK are looking forward to the new careers LMI which has been produced by SSCs as a result of funding from the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) as we have received many enquiries asking when it will be available. The new LMI resource has been primarily created in readiness for the new 'adult advancement and careers service' (aacs) due to commence in England in August 2010.

Skillset successful in Matrix Quality Standard accreditation

Skillset Careers has successfully completed the accreditation review of the Matrix Quality Standard.

Skillset Careers has been offering an industry-based information advice and guidance service for over 10 years. This includes free phone help lines, e-mail advice, workshops and a face-to-face guidance service, the latter three of which are delivered by Skillset freelance advisors. These respected and accomplished creative media professionals have many years of industry experience, awards and long lists of credits to their names.

Spotlight on....GoSkills

GoSkills is the Sector Skills Council for Passenger Transport, and works to enhance the skills of the passenger transport workforce and to promote the opportunities that the sector presents.

The passenger transport sector covers 10 industries, from aviation and rail to driver training and transport planning. It employs more than 720,000 people across the UK, with employees providing essential services that help keep the country moving.
